Security & Protection
QuantumAstra is engineered with a zero-trust foundation to protect scientific preprints, proprietary quantum circuits, and researcher identities against both classical and emerging quantum threat vectors.
Post-Quantum Readiness
Pioneering hybrid key exchange utilizing NIST-approved lattice algorithms (ML-KEM / ML-DSA) to counter future “harvest now, decrypt later” quantum attacks.
End-to-End Encryption
Enforced TLS 1.3 with forward secrecy for all web traffic, coupled with military-grade AES-256-GCM encryption for all database volumes and stored assets.
Row-Level Security (RLS)
Granular kernel-level database isolation guarantees that authenticated queries can never traverse boundaries into unauthorized private researcher notes or drafts.
Real-Time Threat Detection
Continuous behavioural anomaly monitoring, automated DDoS mitigation, and edge rate-limiting to prevent brute force and automated preprint extraction.
01Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) & Forward Resilience
As a network dedicated to the quantum technology community, we take the quantum threat to classical public-key cryptography seriously. Shor's algorithm poses an eventual threat to RSA and elliptic curve cryptography (ECC).
QuantumAstra implements a proactive forward-resilience roadmap:
- Hybrid Key Encapsulation (X25519 + ML-KEM): In supported browser sessions and edge endpoints, we utilize hybrid classical and post-quantum key encapsulation mechanisms, ensuring data remains confidential even against quantum cryptanalysis.
- Quantum-Resistant Hash Functions: All signature verification and integrity checksums utilize SHA-3 / SHAKE256, providing standard 256-bit collision security against Grover's algorithm.
- Cryptographic Agility: Modular protocol design allows rapid deprecation and replacement of underlying cryptographic primitives without requiring breaking changes for users or institutions.
By layering post-quantum algorithms onto all active transport conduits, encrypted traffic intercepted today cannot be retroactively decrypted when fault-tolerant quantum computers become available.
02Database Architecture & Row-Level Data Isolation
QuantumAstra runs on high-availability PostgreSQL infrastructure with enforced Row-Level Security (RLS) policies at the database engine level:
- Kernel-Enforced RLS: Rather than relying solely on application-level filtering, Postgres RLS rules are applied directly within the database engine. A query executed under User A's context can never access or leak rows belonging to User B.
- Zero Direct Public Access: Database instances are situated in private virtual subnets. Direct public internet access to database ports is strictly disabled.
- Cryptographic Salt & Key Derivation: All sensitive session tokens, verification codes, and passwords are encrypted using Argon2id with adaptive memory-hardness parameters.
03Infrastructure Hardening & Edge Network Security
Our edge infrastructure is distributed across multi-region edge nodes to deliver low-latency performance while defending against adversarial traffic:
- Enterprise Web Application Firewall (WAF): Automated inspection for SQL injection (SQLi), Cross-Site Scripting (XSS), Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF), and malicious payload anomalies.
- Adaptive Rate-Limiting: Endpoint protection against automated registration bots, scraping crawlers, and credential stuffing attacks.
- Content Security Policy (CSP): Strict HTTP security headers including
X-Content-Type-Options: nosniff,X-Frame-Options: DENY, and comprehensiveStrict-Transport-Security(HSTS) with preloading.
04Auditability, Logging & Continuous Monitoring
Operational security is monitored around the clock to detect and remediate anomalies before they impact researchers:
- Immutable Audit Trails: Critical security events (such as password resets, institutional domain verifications, and collaborative workspace permission changes) generate cryptographically sealed, immutable log events.
- Zero Payload Logging: Our edge routing layers never log request payloads, private messages, or preprint drafts. Telemetry is restricted to anonymized performance metrics and latency statistics.
- Continuous Dependency Scanning: Automated CI/CD pipelines conduct daily vulnerability audits on all third-party libraries and container images.
05Coordinated Vulnerability Disclosure & Bug Bounty
We welcome collaboration with independent security researchers, academic cryptographers, and ethical hackers to verify our security defenses. If you identify a potential vulnerability:
- Please notify us immediately via email at
support@quantumastra.in. - Provide detailed reproduction steps, proof-of-concept payloads, and affected endpoints.
- We pledge to acknowledge reports within 24 hours and maintain transparent communication throughout the verification and remediation lifecycle.
- We ask that you refrain from accessing other users' private data, disrupting platform availability, or disclosing the vulnerability publicly prior to mutually agreed resolution.
